Detailed Directions

  • Once you get out of the airport, you follow the International Airport Road and it will get you to an intersection.
  • You turn left on that road, called Northern Highway, and you keep going for 5 Miles approx.
  • You turn left on Burrell Boom Cut (Towards the town of Burrell Boom). You keep that road for 12 Miles Approx.
  • Than you will see a roundabout and you will have to take the first right on Western Highway going towards Belmopan/San Ignacio and keep this road for about 54 Miles.
  • Now you have to get inside the village of San Ignacio by turning right on Western Highway (Westbound) for a short distance and go to your left at the intersection and than turn your first right and cross the bridge.
  • You have reached San Ignacio and can see the market on your left hand side (It is a good place to stop by and bring fresh produces and even nice local dishes in the different stands).
  • When you have crossed the San Ignacio Market, you keep your right and stay on Joseph Andrew Dr and you will pass the Macal River Park and turn left (still on Joseph Andrew Dr). Than you turn left on the third street (still Joseph Andrew Dr).
  • You stay on that road (back on Western Highway) until you reach the end of it and turn on your right on Benque Viejo Road.
  • Continue until you reach a small roundabout and take the first right.
  • You are back on Western Highway and you stay on it until you reach the Long Lucky Superstore in Benque, after 7.4 Miles (*after about 6.7 Miles you stay on the highway, but it is turning left, than right after about 0.25 Miles. You are still on the highway and it changes into a boulevard, you will see superstores and restaurants on both sides, on your left side you will finally see the Long Lucky Superstore.).
  • You can stop there to complete your groceries if not done in San Ignacio.
  • You can always ask for the Mollejon / Hydro Road if not sure but you are practically on it. It is a dirt road going diagonal left from the highway where the superstore is and where you will be going for 10.5 Miles until you reach the eco-village. Depending on the condition of the road, it would take around 35-40 minutes. (You will cross some farms on the way once in a while, including one that has a white wooden fence. You will also see a sign for Martz farm as well as a sign for William's restaurant and Che Chem Ha Cave, the last sign is Better in Belize Eco-Village, you can't miss it even if you might think you did.)
